All drivers go through Certified Emergency Vehicle Operator training. Water training is important because we're on the St. Lawrence River. We train for rescue on "solid" water as well. KED training on "Extrication Day" 2005 with Clayton Fire Department. TIERS helps residents of Murray Island learn how to help during what can be a long wait for help to arrive from the mainland in bad weather. Our youth group learns by doing, and helps EMT's polish their skills (they make great "volunteer" victims). Our Paramedics are always on hand to help study and practice. We train with LaFargeville firemen and Crowley Foods staff on confined space rescue procedures at the Crowley plant.
