Full-Time AEMT-Paramedic

AEMT- Paramedic - The
Thousand Islands Emergency Rescue Service Inc. (TIERS) is seeking one full-time
candidate for the position of Emergency Medical Technician – Paramedic for
planned shifts of 24 hours on a rotation schedule. TIERS provides emergency 911
services to the Towns of Clayton and Orleans along the St Lawrence River as well
as mutual aid to multiple townships throughout the unique northern region of
Jefferson County. The position will be full time and will include TIERS benefit
package of paid time off, BCBS Health Plan, Simple IRA Retirement Plan with a 3%
employer match and disability insurance.
The position requires current
NYS Paramedic certification and all capacities of emergency care as a
pre-hospital care provider, certain clerical duties, general duties during
shift, supervision of ambulance operations, and special project assignments.
Compensation will be equal or greater that other area providers as well as

Qualifications

High
School diploma or equivalent

Current NY State EMT-Paramedic certification

Current AHA / ARC / NSC BLS card

Current NY State Drivers license
-
Maintains good standing in NC EMS System

Successful completion of Orientation process

Have
satisfactory physical and mental health to carry out usual related
responsibilities and obligations

the ability to communicate verbally, via telephone and radio equipment

the ability to interpret written and oral instructions

the ability to use good judgment and remain calm in high stress situations

Have
ability to be unaffected by loud noises and flashing lights

Have
the ability to read English language manuals, write, and converse in English

Have
the ability to accurately discern street signs

good manual dexterity, with ability to perform all tasks related to motor
vehicle operation and/or patient care

the ability to bend, stoop, and crawl on uneven terrain

the ability to withstand varied environmental conditions such as extreme heat,
