Some press reports say the funeral procession for Mark's funeral was six miles long. The total number of vehicles that passed under the flag arch was 178 fire and EMS and 19 police vehicles. The line to sign the funeral register stretched all the way outside at times.

The Fire Department of New York City EMS Pipes and Drums and City of Boston EMS Color Guard, and officials from New York City Police, Pittsburg, PA Fire/EMS, Toronto, Ottowa and throughout New York State, and members of Guilfoyle Ambulance Service and TIERS escorted Mark into the Thousand Islands High School for the services. (NOTE: The family asked that no pictures of them were taken or used)

Inside, members of TIERS and others listened to eulogies from several people, including Dave Sherman of Guilfoyle Ambulance and Jefferson County Fire and EMS Coordinator Glenn Morrison. Pictured are Mark's good friend Greg McLean, TIERS Director Rolly Churchill, and TIERS member and friend Traci Mason who delivered the EMT Prayer.

Outside, two lines of emergency vehicles sat in the biting south wind as far as the eye could see and ladder trucks from Clayton Fire Department and Canton Fire Department stretched a huge American flag across the roadway.

The ceremony ended, Mark's casket was loaded onto a Cape Vincent Fire Department pumper for his last trip into the village, under the flag, followed by units from Cape Vincent, Guilfoyle, and TIERS.

Followed by hundreds of others.

Once at the Cape Vincent Fire Department, TIERS members were among the Honor Guard that stood watch as the procession passed by under another huge American Flag.
