Drivers needed

The opportunity for TIERS to begin serving our area's mobility-challenged citizens also creates the need for specially-trained paid drivers to handle what we hope will be a very busy schedule.

Drivers must be 18 and have a NYS Class C or higher Commercial Driver's License (CDL), to operate a vehicle which carries physically handicapped passengers. This requires a DOT physical exam, and a written test and vision test at a DMV office.

Drivers will also need an official Driver's License Abstract of their driving record and state and insurance carrier approval for TIERS to be able to add them to the driver's roster filed with the Department of Transportation.

There is also special training by the DOT and by TIERS on how to safely and comfortably operate a wheelchair van, how to properly secure passengers, negotiate stairs with a wheelchair, emergency procedures, TIERS policies and procedures, etc.

Please contact Glenn or Rolly if you are--or may be interested in--filling a rewarding part-time position with TIERS Inc. providing a service that is so much appreciated by those who use it!
