Thousand Islands Rescue Receives $10,000 Grant
Thousand Islands Emergency Rescue Service (TIERS)
has been awarded a grant from the E.J.
The $10,000 grant will be utilized for new capnography devices that are required for all Advanced Life Support (ALS), ambulances in New York State. The grant was awarded on December 5; the deadline for ALS services to have capnography devices is December 31. PLEASE CLICK TO READ MORE http://www.capnography.com/new/ NYS EMT Practical Exams Now Recognized for National Registry EMS providers who have recently (and successfully), completed their New York EMS certification exams can apply for the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians written test, but no longer have to take a NREMT practical skills exam. NREMT now gives applicants credit for passing the state skills exam for their certification level. The computerized knowledge tests are given in Watertown. Mark Davis Paramedic Scholarship at Jefferson Community College To Be Announced More details will be coming soon, but the Mark Davis Memorial Scholarship has been established at Jefferson Community College through the JCC Foundation. Mark was a student in the Paramedic program at the time of his death. Checks for the Mark Davis Memorial Scholarship can be made out to "JCC Foundation" with "Mark Davis Scholarship" in the memo section. They will be allocated specifically for the scholarship for student paramedics.
